Durham has been my home since 1986 and I raised my children here. As an advocate, I’ve helped citizens become more successful and as a business owner I’ve contributed to the economic well-being of Durham.
For the past 10 years I have served as President/CEO of the Howerton Consulting Group, a leading organizational training and development firm specializing in executive coaching. My business experience has served as a foundation for helping others to play active roles in our community.
I’ve served as the community organizer for Durham Congregations, Associations & Neighborhoods (Durham CAN), been a member of the Human Relations Commission, and have been twice elected to the Durham Soil and Water Conservation District Board, which handles farm and environmental education programs. One of the hallmarks of my career has been working with a diverse range of people.
As you can see from my advisory team of community leaders are talented and diverse individuals. In meeting one on one with Durham citizens I have already raised almost three thousand dollars for this campaign. I hope that you share my commitment to a strong and diverse Durham with a county government that is working to create a better life for everyone.
